(Updated 4/20/22)

Each state has its own state CME requirements to fulfill – some depend on the amount of CME you earn, others center more on your educational hours. It can be hard to keep track. New York is actually one of the easier states for CME requirements – you don’t have to earn any certain amount of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s), nor do you have to watch a certain amount of hours of content. bUT trying to keep track of your requirements may be tedious for you.

For your convenience, we at GIBLIB have curated your state CME required topics and credits in one blog. Now, you can fulfill some of your CME needs in one place. Review your requirements and watch videos linked below that will fulfill them. Use our easy-to-access resource to make fulfilling your requirements less of a chore.

For both MD and DO physicians, you are required to do the following:

  • “2 hours on identifying and reporting child abuse and maltreatment. Licensees must also complete coursework or training on infection control and barrier precautions once every four years. Prescribers who have a DEA registration number to prescribe controlled substances, as well as medical residents who prescribe controlled substances under a facility DEA registration number, must complete at least three (3) hours of course work or training in pain management, palliative care, and addiction.” – FSMB
